Wedding Send-Off Ideas for a Fun Wedding Exit

After the beauty of your wedding ceremony and joyful celebration at your reception, it is time, at last, to leave the party and start your new life together. There are a lot of ways, both traditional and unique, that couples choose for their wedding send-off. It is another small piece in wedding planning that creates lifelong memories and fun photos. So, whether you make your exit under a sparkling fireworks show wearing your stunning affordable wedding dress or are looking for something more simple, here are ten wedding send-off ideas to get you started.

Choose a Wedding Exit That Lets Out Your Inner Child

Planning something fun and playful for your wedding exit will bring a smile to your guests’ faces, both adults and children. The surest way to get a smile is to pick a send-off that is unexpected, something kids and adults will both love and remember. You won’t need to stage your reaction with these send-offs, your photographer is sure to capture genuine joy and candid smiles, guaranteed!

Wedding Send Off #1: Bubbles

Bubbles create a whimsical ambiance and lighthearted magic for a wedding send-off, and are a fun way to fill the hearts of your guests with hope and love as they usher you out. The best part? There is minimal clean-up and no sweeping with bubbles! Personalized colored mini bubble bottles can double as excellent wedding favors, or you can invest in a few bubble guns or a bubble machine to fill the air.

paper airplane wedding exit

Wedding Send Off #2: Paper Airplanes

Paper airplanes are also a fun and unique send-off idea. You can go as straightforward or as complicated as you want on this. Guests can fold their own airplanes with paper passed out or put on tables. Or, you can pre-fold them before. Bonus points are awarded for cute, inspiring messages on the planes!

glow sticks for wedding send off

Wedding Send Off #3: Glow Sticks

Glow sticks are a safer, more long-lasting alternative to sparklers. What’s more, you can purchase glow sticks in many colors and most likely get them in your wedding colors. When guests wave them, they make fun and exciting photos for your send-off. The larger sized glow sticks work better for spinning and waving, and there are a wide variety of styles to choose from, like foam glow sticks, lightsabers, and fiber optic wands.

sprinkles for wedding send off

Wedding Send Off #4: Sprinkles

If you are looking for a fun, more tasty alternative to rice or confetti, consider having your guests throw sprinkles. There are so many different kinds of sprinkles that you can throw (and put on your ice cream), so find what fits you. You can package them in individual sachets or have your guests scoop their own.

Choose a Creative Send Off That is Friendly for the Environment

If you want to have a fun wedding send-off but are worried about the impact on the environment, consider the following ideas for eco-friendly options.

lavender for unique wedding send off

Wedding Send Off #5: Local Greenery

Leaves and plants are a beautiful, elegant send-off that smell fresh and are fantastic for outdoor weddings. If you use local plants, you often do not have to deal with clean-up either. Some of our top choices for local greenery include:

  • Eucalyptus
  • Lavender
  • Fall leaves

dried flowers for cute wedding send off

Wedding Send Off #6: Dried herbs

Dried herbs are another aromatic and low-impact way to send a couple off. You can purchase dried herbs in bulk at your local grocery store or look into using local herbs from a nearby garden. As an added bonus, each herb symbolizes different meanings and blessings. Some of our favorites include:

  • Sage
  • Rosemary
  • Basil
  • Marjoram

flower petal wedding send off

Wedding Send-Off #7: Fresh or Dried Flower Petals

Flowers undoubtedly play a part in weddings, and you can incorporate them up to the very end by having your guests throw fresh or dried flowers or flower petals. Choose a favorite flower that the bride loves or flowers that match the wedding party. It is another colorful and aromatic way to end the party and start your life together.

bird seed for wedding send off

Wedding Send Off #8: Bird Seed

Bird seed is another fun and different way to send off the happy couple, particularly during the day when the birds are around for clean up. You can hand out pre-prepared sachets or have your guests serve themselves.

Choose a Unique Send Off That Has Guests Waving Instead of Throwing

If you aren’t thrilled about the potential mess and clean-up of throwing items, consider having your guests wave a special item instead. They are fantastic to personalize and make great wedding favors.

flags for wedding send off

Wedding Send-Off #9: Banners, Flags, or Streamers

Banners, flags, and streamers make a colorful and fun send-off for any occasion. You can make it extra special for your wedding by getting them in your wedding colors, the university colors where you met, or classic black and white. You can order them in bulk, hand make them using cloth scraps and patterns, or order them in pieces and assemble them yourself. Glittery or shiny streamers can offer a similar look to sparklers without the fire danger.

wedding send off idea for destination wedding

Wedding Send Off #10: Unique Send Offs

Last, but certainly not least, are unique send-offs that match your style and perhaps coincide with a destination wedding. Palm fronds or beach balls are fun send-off ideas if you are having a beach wedding. For a low-maintenance yet fun send-off, you can have guests wave handkerchiefs or make a human bridge that you and your loved one run through.

Essentials for Sisters Preparing for Their LDS Mission

Congratulations! You have accepted the call to serve as a sister missionary for the Lord, and we admire and support you. Your eighteen-month mission will be one of the best, most challenging, and most rewarding times of your life as you work hard and experience change first-hand.

At White Elegance, we hope to prepare sister missionaries of all ages, shapes, and personalities to serve their best and be their best by providing unique, quality, affordable clothing for your temple and mission experiences. Our dresses, skirts, and tops are easy to care for and designed to last, making them a fantastic addition to your missionary packing list. Are you wondering what items need to be on your LDS sister missionary packing list? Discover our top recommendations below.

Our Recommended LDS Sister Missionary Packing List

As stated on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ website, “As you are an authorized representative of Jesus Christ and His restored Church, your appearance is often the first message others receive. It should be consistent with the sacred message you are called to share.” You are also called to serve in a unique place with a specific climate, differing temperatures, and various seasons. As you prepare your packing list, let these two principles guide you:

  • First, remember that you are a representative of the Lord and choose items that will best help you represent Him and do His work.
  • Second, remember to pack based on your mission’s climate, temperatures, seasons, and recommendations from your Mission President. For example, if you serve in an area with cold temperatures and snow, you will need a warm coat, boots, and layers for the outdoors. If you serve in a tropical environment, you can leave the warm things at home but may need other items specific to your mission.

Sister Missionary Essentials

Your mission president will include a packing list with essential items relevant to your mission; you can and should use this as your first reference. In most cases, you will be able to purchase and get items out in the field, so you do not need to bring an entire 18-month supply of most things. However, there are a few essentials that all missionaries should prepare to pack, including:

  • Personal hygiene and toiletries, such as makeup, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, lotion, razor, hair brush, chapstick, sunscreen, feminine hygiene products, etc.
  • Small first aid kit and any necessary medications
  • Picture ID, passport, copy of your patriarchal blessing and mission call, and other paperwork needed for travel and your mission
  • Personal set of scriptures. You will receive scriptures in your mission language at the MTC and can purchase many study helps, books, journals, and more at the MTC.
  • Sheets and towels
  • Pictures, a journal, and momentos from home

Do NOT bring any of the following items: weapons of any kind, computer, phone, smart watches or unauthorized electronic equipment, daily planners (you will receive one on your mission), playing cards or unauthorized hobby equipment, musical instruments, radios, or extra reading material.

Sister Missionary Clothes and Shoes

You will want to pack missionary clothes that are comfortable, durable, professional, and something you will want to wear again and again! Choose neutral and basic colors for your skirts and slacks, like black, beige, gray, and tan. Then, find tops in colors and styles you love that pair well with different items. We recommend the following:

  • 6-8 dress shirts, such as blouses, tops, and sweaters
  • 6-8 skirts
  • 4-5 dress slacks
  • 3-4 sister missionary dresses
  • 2-3 pairs of comfortable, low-profile sister missionary shoes for everyday use
  • 1 pair of dress shoes
  • 8-10 pairs of temple garments
  • 5-6 shirts for bed, exercise, and service
  • 5-6 bottoms for bed, exercise, and service
  • 8-10 pairs of socks, including ped socks and exercise socks
  • 1 pair of tennis shoes for exercise and service
  • 4-5 bras
  • 2-3 sports bras
  • Nylons, tights, and slips as needed
  • Slippers
  • Shower shoes as needed
  • Coat, jacket, and/or rain jacket as needed
  • Hats, belts, and accessories as needed

LDS Temple Dresses & Shoes

One of the most exciting and enlightening experiences before your mission is your temple experience. You can return to the temple as much as you’d like before departing on your mission, and for missionaries with a temple in their mission, you may have the chance to attend while serving.

White Elegance provides LDS temple gowns that will help you feel comfortable and calm as you enter for the first time and every time after. You can choose from two-piece sets, which include a long-sleeved top and skirt, such as our:

We have beautiful, affordable temple dresses in all styles and sizes if you prefer a dress. Each dress is made with wrinkle-free material, and we always include pockets. Some of our missionary favorites include:

Remember that, in addition to a temple dress or set, you will need a white slip, white nylons or knee-highs, and white shoes or slippers.

Top 10 Tips for Modest Dress Shopping for Utah Brides

Below, we’ve taken our 25 years of experience and compiled our top ten tips for modest wedding dress shopping in Utah. These tips are both a great way to prepare ahead of wedding dress shopping and good things to keep in mind once you’re in the store. That way, you will feel confident when you are looking for the perfect dress, whether online or in person.

Tip #1: Decide on a Budget

Your wedding budget may be a source of stress for you or those helping you plan. It doesn’t have to be! Itemizing your budget is a helpful step to knowing how much you can or are willing to spend on each part of your wedding.

The wedding dress is, of course, one item on that list. Decide how much you are willing to spend on your gown. Remember to keep in mind costs that may go along with the dress, such as accessories, jewelry, alteration costs, and shoes.

At White Elegance, our average wedding dress costs only $105. Our prices range from just $69 to $135, which is significantly lower than even the cheapest gowns of our competitors, who average $800 to $1500 dollars per dress. Spending less on a dress allows you to save more or put money towards other important pieces of your big day.

Tip #2: Consider Your Look

As you plan what kind of dress you would like, keep in mind the look you want. Are you going for a formal or classy wedding, or are you looking for something more conservative, rustic, simple, or boho? You can find a dress that fits this look. At White Elegance, we make our dresses markedly simple so that you can accessorize or enhance your gown to your specific look.

As you choose your dress, keep in mind what accessories you may want to add, such as:

  • Veil
  • Headpiece, such as a crown or flowers
  • Earrings, necklace, bracelet
  • Shoes
  • Lace, beading, sash, fur

These can create a look that is completely you and make you stand out even more (if that’s possible) on your wedding day.

Tip #3: Consider Your Season

Will you be getting married in the fall, winter, spring, or summer? White Elegance carries long-sleeve wedding dresses, perfect for fall, winter, or spring, or for a summer wedding with a chilly evening reception. We also carry a beautiful short-sleeve wedding dress in delicate lace.

Tip #4: Be Aware of Your Timeline

We are sure that you are aware of your wedding date, it has been the topic of many conversations! However, the post office and exchange process may not be aware of your date. Make sure that you leave plenty of time between your dress purchase and your wedding day in case of:

  • Potential shipping delays
  • Potential alterations or changes
  • Potential exchanges

White Elegance has two convenient locations in Orem and Murray to try on dresses, exchange sizes, and find exactly what you are looking for.

Tip #5: Know Your Size

It is important to know what size you are when trying on dresses. White Elegance dresses come in a wide range of sizes to fit any body type. Our sizes range from XXS to XXXXL plus size and come in petite, regular, and tall lengths.

Tip #6: Pay Attention to the Fit

As you try on each dress, notice how it fits. How do the sleeves feel? Is the length right, or you do need something shorter or longer? How does it fit around the neckline and the body? You want a dress that fits so you can enjoy your wedding day and not be preoccupied with sagging necklines or tight sleeves.

White Elegance uses high-quality fabrics from around the world and our dresses are manufactured primarily in the USA where we can protect our high quality standards. Each modest dress is styled to fit and complement every woman.

Tip #7: Think About How You Feel

As you try on each dress, notice how it feels. Is the fabric soft and supple, or are there parts that scratch, itch or irritate? Does it allow you to move comfortably, or do you feel restrained? You will want something that is as comfortable as it is elegant for your special day. Pockets, which are found on every White Elegance wedding dress, are a huge plus!

Tip #8: Do You Love It?

This is something that only you can answer: Do you love being in this dress?

Tip #9: Consider Its Long-Term Value

Many brides-to-be do not consider this question, but it is worth asking upfront: will you be saving your dress after the wedding? The wonderful thing about White Elegance wedding dresses is that the vast majority can be used as a temple dress after the wedding day. That way, you can continue to use it instead of it gathering dust in the closet. It is an investment that stands as a reminder of your special day every time you wear it.

Tip #10: Have Zero Regrets

As you shop for the perfect modest wedding dress, have confidence in your decisions and  what you love. Hopefully, these ten tips help you find the dress of your dreams without breaking the bank!
